Review: St. Ives Elements Olive Cleanser

I picked up the St. Ives Elements Olive Cleanser ($7.99) at the grocery store a couple weeks ago. I think I expected it to be an actual oil, but it's not. It's a regular foaming cleanser that contains olive oil. It deep cleans to gently remove dirt and makeup and helps maintain skin's moisture balance. Good quality for a reasonable price. I like it. My fiancee likes it. We'll keep it around.

I have to disagree. I have combination skin with some oily areas as well as very dry areas and I'm breakout prone in both. I bought this cleanser in the hopes that it would quench my dry skin without causing breakouts. However, after using almost and entire bottle, I have an increase in breakouts and my skin feels just as dry as it would with a normal cleanser. Other than the promise of moisture, it has little to offer. It doesn't smell good, look good, or work well.

I love this product. Guess it really depends on what type of skin you have. Plus the moisturizer you use. This is the kind of cleanser I have been wanting for quite some time now. Very light. And very natural. As an added bonus, its a vegan product and I got a great deal. Only five bucks a pop. :-)

LOVE! THIS! PRODUCT! I was on vacation in LA and had to buy a 'fill in' face wash because I forgot mine. This one caught my eye and I've been worried since that I won't be able to find another bottle on the east coast. My skin is combination with little breakouts now (except with irritation to face products), but I had severe acne in college with some scarring. Since I used this product my skin has been SO smooth, not greasy, and my scarring seems to have diminished. Note: I'm generally prone to breakouts with face washes, but none whatsoever with this.

It's worth a try if you've got combination skin. The price is right.
