Beauty Trend: Facial Oil

I'm beginning to like the idea of face oils. I really want to try one. I'm torn between Josie Maran's Aragan Oil and this new Jurlique one.

Jurlique Skin Balancing Face Oil ($50, available September 15, 2008)

What's in it:
- Unique blend of biodynamic and organic ingredients helps balance, nurture and protect skin.
- Biodynamic blend is enriched with Chamomile, Calendula, Marshmallow and Rose extracts.
- Avocado, Macadamia, Rose Hip and Safflower oils protect against moisture loss and improves elasticity.
- Does not contain parabens, mineral oils, propylene glycol, sodium lauryl sulphate, synthetic emulsifiers, or artificial colours and fragrances.
- Said to be a favorite among skin care professionals for its versatility and suitability across all skin types, even oily, as the product adapts to the skin’s natural oil production cycle, while maintaining moisture levels.

Josie Maran Argan Oil ($48)
What it is:
A lightweight oil that can be used as a daily moisturizer and skin treatment.

What it does:
Josie Maran Argan Oil is a legendary oil that's rich in vitamin E and essential fatty acids, and grown organically in Morocco. Argan oil is known to have many treatment benefits, including hydrating and nourishing skin, as well as toning and firming. It's gentle enough to use on all skin types and is believed to help with skin conditions including acne.

What else you need to know:
The oil is housed in a recyclable glass bottle, and purchased from women's cooperatives in Morocco to support their social and economic welfare. These cooperatives work within a UNESCO biosphere reserve that ensures the protection and reforestation of Argan trees.

Have you tried either one of these? Have your own recommendation? Leave it in the comments section.

I use the Suki serums and they work great, but a cheap option is safflower oil!

I say go for the organic ones that you can find in the health food store. It is a slightly yellowy oil, with almost no scent. I use a very small amount and massage it in very carefully on cleansed skin, so that no greasy surface is left.

Benefits (there are loads!): Safflower oil has a very high percentage of linoleic acid (good for skin that's lacking moisture and glow) and as it's a so-called dry oil, it's therefore easily absorbed by the skin. Dry oils can go deeper down in the skin layers and they work great in conjunction with more greasy oils such as olive oil; I've used safflower oil both on it's own and mixed with jojoba and apricot seed oil. I can imagine this one as especially good for older skin types or dry ones as it revives and activates the skin, giving this beautiful glow. Love it, hope it can help someone!

I have recently got into using oils myself... So far I have tried 100% Organic Argan Oil by Soelle Beauty and I love it! It doesn't smell and it aborbs so fast.. I was always hesitant to put oils on my face but the more I read the more I understand that they are not all created equal...especially Argan Oil. I got mine at www.soellebeauty.com for $30.

Hey! For sure i will use argan oil, it's natural, organic and used by many many women in Europe. It's is great for your skin. It's the best food you can give to your skin. Argan varies a lot from brand to brand, you have to becareful on what you use!
I'm hooked to Jebel Pure Argan Oil and i tell all my girls about it because i couldnt believe the results i had, no more pimples, better skin elasticity and complexion. But also good for hair and nails.
I also recommend it because the company is eco-friendly and socially conscious.
