Review: Korres- Best of Korres Set

Korres Best of Korres Set ($25):

Yoghurt Cooling Gel Sachet

A soothing cream-gel made of real, edible yohgurt, that instantly reduces UV induced redness. This is a really neat gel that smells slightly floral and sinks into skin without being greasy or sticky at all. I think I'll definitely get a full sized one next summer.

Vanilla Cinnamon Little Showergel

Every showergel is enriched with Active Aloe® that stimulates collagen and elastin to reduce the visible signs of aging. Wheat proteins form a protective shield to maintain skin's ideal moisture level and vitamins C, E and Zinc enhance the natural immune system of the skin.

The vanilla cinnamon scent is very nice. Not overly sugary.

Basil Lemon Little Showergel
Scent: fresh, citrus
Feel: Invigorating

I wasn't sure if I'd like this one, but it's refreshing and the thyme gives the lemon a nice kick.

Guava Little Body Butter
This is a thick but not too thick fruity body butter. Very moisturizing without stickiness. Love it.

Wild Rose Moisturizer

Wild Rose 24-hour moisturizer that quickly and effectively heals and lightens hyper- pigmentation.
• Wild Rose oil, a potent, natural source of vitamin C, significantly diminishes fine lines, hyper- pigmentation and resurfaces skin, revealing a soft and radiant complexion
• Imperata cylindrica a desert plant extract, ensures 24-hour long-lasting hydration by continually regulating the cellular water equilibrium
• Pure vitamin C inhibits free radical damage and brightens the skin
• Phytic Acid, a natural skin lightener, helps illuminating sun damage and acne scarring
-Grape seed extract, rich in Vitamin E, a powerful antioxidant, helps promote a healthy and youthful complexion
-Olive oil, almost identical in chemical structure to our skin lipids, provides ideal hydration, while allowing the skin to breathe
After using the sample size of this, I'm definitely considering buying the full size. I love the rose scent and the way it hydrates without being greasy. I'm not sure though... it only has SPF 6 and $32 is kind of a lot.

Evening Primrose Eye Cream
Evening Primrose triple action eye cream that reduces fine lines and dark circles while shielding from the sun’s damaging rays
• Evening Primrose oil rich in linolenic acid, an essential fatty acid, provides hydration and nourishes the delicate skin around the eyes.
• Vitamin K and Ruscus extracts work synergistically to increase blood microcirculation, quickly and visibly diminishing dark circles while also moisturizing the skin.
• Zinc oxide, a natural sunscreen, prevents premature aging by providing sun protection
I've been using this in the morning. It's very lightweight. I like that it has SPF. Makes a good base for concealer. I'm not thoroughly convinced it's worth the price tag.

Overall my favorites of this bunch were the Yohgurt Cooling Gel, the Vanilla Cinnamon Showergel and the Guava Body Butter. I definitely like the quality of Korres products and plan on trying more of them (actually I'm making an order now!) You might think the scents are unusual and not for you, but try them first. You may be surprised.

MAC - DSquared

Every season the fashion crowd is up and on the run, crazy for the fierce and sexy fun we’ve come to expect from designers Dan and Dean Caten, the Canadian twins who know how to pack a punch and throw a party! With their haute hi-jinx and body-beautiful clothes for boys and girls, a collaboration with MAC simply could NOT be avoided! “DSquared2 and MAC are on the same trip!” says Dan. This collection brings us to the Ziegfield Follies by way of Grey Gardens, a bit disheveled, a little Girl Interrupted, both dramatically hip and dangerously sexy.
It starts with a strong, sooty, blackest-ever wild-child eye…a new Greasepaint Stick also in blue and violet versions, and Pro Gloss to create it. Neutral and perfected skin will get more drama with highlighting and low lighting from Sculpt and Shape Powders and the 165 Tapered Cheek/Highlight Brush all the better to achieve it. And finally, the totally nude Pro Lip Erase does its stuff, followed by a light Lipstick and Lip Conditioner to put the lilt and lift back in…. But the cynosure of this season’s scintillating collaboration is the daring, dramatic slightly demented DSquared2 eye. Have fun with it!
Lipstick ($14.00 U.S. / $16.50 CDN)
-Nude Rose- Light neutral pink (Lustre)
-Blood Red- Clean deep berry (Lustre)

Lip Erase ($16.00 U.S. / $19.00 CDN)
-Dim- NC37 Fleshtone

I want to get this, it was previously a PRO product and out now for a limited time.

Tinted Lip Conditioner ($14.50 U.S. / $17.50 CDN)
-Fuschia Fix- Deep pink sheen

I love this bright magenta pink gloss, it's soft and never sticky.

Gloss Texture ($18.00 U.S. / $22.00 CDN)
-Clear

Sculpt and Shape Powder Duo ($21.00 U.S. / $25.00 CDN)
-Bone Beige/ Emphasize- Palest cream / Tan
-Accentuate/Sculpt- Pale blushed beige / Soft taupe brown

I have Accentuate/Sculpt and I have to say that I'm on the fence on the brown shade... not sure if it's actually flattering. The peachy pink side is a nice highlighter. Both come out very sheer.

Grease Paint Stick ($17.50 U.S. / $21.00 CDN)
-Black- True black
-B- Bright blue violet

-V- Bright yellow blue

These thick crayons are an interesting concept. I don't know if I'd call it a grease stick though, when I think of grease, I think of something thick that smears. This sticks exactly where you draw it on however, there's not much smearing to be done. Rubbing it too much causes it to kind of shed. I have the black one. I think its main use for me will be as a base for a smoky eye. I did try it on my waterline, but I don't necessarily recommend that. It irritated my eyes.

Kohl Power ($14.50 U.S. / $17.50 CDN)
-Feline- Glossy black

Kohl is kohl, this one is a nice deep black.

Brush ($34.00 U.S. / $41.00 CDN)
-165 Brush- Medium-sized tapered brush with soft, natural bristles

Review: Prai Beauty - Scent of a Woman Eau De Parfum

I recently tried Prai Beauty's Scent of a Woman Eau de Parfum Purse Spray from BeautyTicket.com. It's small and has a tiny heart charm decorated with little pink crystals. The smell of it at first made me want to sneeze a little bit. The floral scent is nice but it's strong, even with only one spray. I like the dry down though, it's and musky and warm.

-Top Notes: citrus Bergamot and floral Orange Blossoms
-Middle Notes: warm Sambac petals and musky Patchouli
-Bottom Notes: Vetiver and sensual Musks

face candy grade: b-

Halloween Treats From Philosophy

I Love Candy Corn Shampoo, Shower Gel & Bubble Bath ($16)
Trick-or-Treat ($20)- 2 high foaming 3-in-1 cleansers. I love these because they're the perfect size. 8 oz. makes these just the right amount to get you from fall to winter, when you'll undoubtedly be tempted by holiday scents.
-Pumpkin Spice Muffin Shampoo, Shower Gel & Bubble Bath
-Caramel Apple Shampoo, Shower Gel & Bubble Bath

They also make Pumpkin Spice Muffin and Caramel Apple Lip Shines ($12 each) but where the hell is my I Love Candy Corn Lip Shine? I'd buy the crap out of that!

Both sets are limited edition and only at Sephora.

Review: Harajuku Lovers Snow Bunnies Fragrance

I have to admit that I wasn't very interested in anything from Gwen Stefani but these lil perfumes are adorable, there's no denying it. Check out how cute these new limited edition Snow Bunnies are.

snow bunny (snoh) (buh-neh) n.1. An uber fashionable girly-girl who uses the snowy streets of Harajuku as her own personal catwalk.

Harajuku Lovers Fragrance: n.1. A fatal attraction to cuteness.

-Love-

Blossom, Creamy Paperwhites, Egyptian Jasmine

Perfumer: IFF, Yves Cassar & Pascal Gaurin

-Lil Angel-
FRAGRANCE: A fruity floral

-G-
FRAGRANCE: A modern gourmand

Perfumer: Fragrance Resources, Steve DeMarcado

-Music-
BOTTLE: Mischievous and Playful -(I had to include the description b/c it was so cute!)-
Creating a style all her own, Music shops the chilly streets of Harajuku in a second hand, color blocked puffy jacket that she accessorizes with a cashmere gold scarf and bright red mittens. Her sheer white sundress with a multicolor embroidered hem is stylishly worn over baggy sugar cane jeans (to remind her that warmer weather is on its way). Bobby pins, inspired by the Décora Girls in Tokyo, add a final touch of cuteness!

FRAGRANCE: A delicate floral
Top: Clementine, Sparkling Pear
Mid: Jasmine Sambac, Sweetpea, Honeysuckle
Base: Vanilla, Skin Musk, Sleek Woods
Perfumer: Firmenich, Honorine Blanc

This is the one I tried. It's really nice, it starts out fruity and sweet but dries down to be a less potent floral fragrance. The packaging is awesome. And I love that they're tiny. They measure about 3 or 4 inches I'd say. You end up getting .33 oz. of eau de toilette. Perfume goes bad and I like to try new ones.

face candy grade: a

-Baby-
FRAGRANCE: A powdery musk
Top: Freesia, Bergamot, White Rose
Mid: Orange Flower, Tiare Flower, Jasmine Petals
Base: White Musk, Soft Woods, Heliotrope, Vanilla, Violet
Perfumer: Firmenich, Harry Fremont

They're all $30 and available at Sephora.
