Dove Sponsored Spa Day!

This past weekend, I was treated to a Spa Day sponsored by Dove. I'm a Baltimoron, so we were sent over to Zena's Spa & Salon at 1401 North Charles Street, across from the Belvedere Hotel. I'm stupid and unprepared, so I did not take any pictures. (What was I thinking?) Now, I work on Charles Street. I work at 20 South Charles Street and I walk through and frequent Mount Vernon regularly. Somehow, I've always overlooked this place! Apparently it used to be inside the Belvedere and now shares space with a gym. Anyway, my Mom, my Mom-in-Law, a couple good friends and co-workers headed over there on Saturday for a treat.

Each person received 3 treatments: a manicure, a pedicure and a piticure. The inside of the spa is gorgeous, it's clean and airy and bright. Very relaxing. I had the piticure first. What is a piticure? It's a 3 step process that cleanses and minimizes the look and feel of hair over time. First they massage your arms and hands and elbows with a gentle exfoliator. Next, the arm pits are cleansed using a Dove exfoliating pad to get rid of dead skin and then everything gets moisturized. I was unsure of this, but it was very refreshing and soothing.

After that, I got my toe and fingernails done in Essie's Turquoise & Caicos. At the end, everyone received a new Dove Antiperspirant & Deodorant in Smooth Cashmere. The new formula is 100% clear, so you won't get deodorant marks on your dark clothing. It's moisturizing and claims to protect for 24 hours. I disagree with 24 hour protection. But it gets good marks for its sweat coverage (about 3-4 hours) and unoffensive scent (I can't put a finger on it, but it's very slight). Overall, it was a great experience. I had a blast with my friends getting pretty and I was very impressed with Zena's Spa and plan to go back frequently. They offer hair and nail services, along with waxing and massage.

Thank you Dove!
