Encased in a white gold box with a black scroll, Clarins Barocco Eye Colour Trio ($40) might be mistaken for jewels. Smooth (I'm assuming baked) domes of 3 coordinating shadows and a double ended applicator sit inside along with a large mirror. The black is a soft black. Used dry it is matte gray. I just tried it wet and love it. It intensifies x10. The middle is a mix of gold and black, mine has more gold than black, so it ended up not being too much different from the gold. The gold provides a nice slightly yellow gold shimmer. The fact that these shadows are on the sheer side makes it easy to build and create a look like in the campaign picture. The trio is an elegant collection to have and would serve you well during the holiday season for an easy festive eye. The gorgeous gold packaging doesn't hurt either.
