As summer approaches, I start considering what sun protectant lip balms are on the market. The skin on your lips has 3-5 cellular layers whereas your face skin has about 16. Thinner skin is more prone to chapping and burning. Here are some of the best bets to keep your lips protected and moisturized.
Nivea Lip Care - A Kiss of Protection Sun Protection Lip Care SPF 30 ($2.99) - A Kiss of Moisture is one of my absolute favorite lip balms ever, so I thought I'd try this one out since it has SPF 30. At first, I was not a big fan. It's a harder balm, I recommend using at least 3 layers so you don't have to reapply right away. I've grown to like it much more and am impressed by the high SPF and low price point.

Jack Black - Intense Therapy Lip Balm SPF 25 ($7.50) - Provides broad-spectrum UVA/UVB protection. I've never tried this one, but reviews were all good and $7.50 is quite reasonable.
LAVANILA - The Healthy Lip Screen SPF 30 ($16) Protects lips with natural titanium dioxide and zinc oxide. This is new to the LAVANILA range. All reviews had 5 stars. A bit pricey, but it's 100% natural.
