Asian Invasion

I'm a Korean girl and I have a thing for white guys. Not just white guys. But mainly white guys. I know there are guys out there who are exclusively into Asian chicks. Most people assume that my husband is one of those, but he's not. We just happened to fall in love. I like that more and more we are seeing couples of mixed race. Let's name a few.

Johnny Knoxville and Naomi Nelson

Trent Reznor and Mariqueen Maandig

Owen Wilson and Jade Duell

Kevin James and Steffiana de la Cruz

Nicholas Cage and Alice Kim

Woody Harrelson and Laura Louie

The list now turns into: OLD White Guys and Asian Women

Rupert and Wendi Murdoch

Connie Chung and Maury Povich

John Lennon and Yoko Ono

Let's not even mention Woody Allen and his daughter.

The list finally becomes Black Guys and Asian Women:

Wayne Brady and Mandie Taketa (divorced)
Wesley Snipes and Nakyung "Nikki" Park
Dave Chappelle and Elaine Mendoza Erfe

Anyone to add to the list(s)?

I'm indian and my fiance is white. He never dated a non-white girl until he met me.

I think it's beautiful to see mixed couples. People are people and that is that.

People are not just "people". In a predominantly white-dominated Western society, Asians are not necessarily attracted to Whites, they are attracted to an unspoken power struggle that fits like a puzzle piece into the "hierarchy" and "filial" aspects of Eastern culture in general.

Point of fact: if a community of Asians (East asians in particular) are in close proximity to a group of other people that are perceived socially as having a high status in society, there will be a set cultural alignment with finding that particular group of people "attractive". East Asians point of attraction is culturally associated with things that are not physical, but crucial to the continuation and stability of their culture.

With that said, a progressive East Asian woman is more likely to settle into a crappy relationship with a White man, than embark on a predictable (but stable) relationship with an Asian man and even less likely to have a perfect relationship with a black man, due to social stigma.

It has almost nothing to do with race and almost everything to do with the legacy of racism. A practice that is so far removed from the personal relationship of an average white male and asian female, that to even suggest the connection would be considered an abstract concept.

The truth is easy to explain but hard to see.

So this idea that "people are people" is total hogwash. People say that Asia primarily has no modern day religion. But Asia's religion has always been and will continue to be... politics.
