Pants for Short People: J.Crew

It is extremely rare that I find a pair of pants that fit me and don't need to be hemmed or altered in some way. That's part of being 4'9". And then I discovered that J. Crew carries petite items, including pants. It kind of changed my life.

I just ordered a pair of black but I all ready have a pair of khaki in Petite Classic Cafe Capri ($69.50). Right now they are on sale for $59.50 (if you consider that a sale) and available in black, khaki, white and rust. I wear size petite 00. The sizing says Natural Waist: 23 and Hip: 33.25. The inseam is 23". I have been tempted to try the kids pants but I'm afraid my butt and hips would be too big to fit. I love these and they're easy to wash.

My absolute favorite pants are the Petite Minnie Pants in stretch twill ($89.50) the only thing that irks me is they're "dry-clean only" but I turn them inside out and wash on gentle. The zipper is on the side which can take some getting used to. These have a 24" inseam. Available in: black, khaki, flame (above), deep orchid and navy. While $90 for pants is a bit much, I don't mind. I have 2 pairs of black and live in them. Plus you can dress them up or down.
I'm trying to step out of my black and khaki rut by adding some more color into my wardrobe. I purchased the Petite Scout Chinos ($69.50) in mint (shown above). They won't arrive until April but I sure hope I can pull 'em off. The inseam is 24". Available in: black, neon peach, light khaki, white and mint.

Thank you J.Crew! I will pretty much only purchase my pants from there now. And at least I know they will fit without alterations.
